Scott County Historical Society hosts 1940s-themed dance
The Scott County Historical Society's mission is to search, save, and share its history and cultural heritage. As a result, the society hosts many events, programs, and projects throughout the year including Kids Kraft, archival projects, and museum exhibits. But all of this needs funding, of course. As a result, the Scott County Historical Society has gotten creative with their fundraising efforts by hosting their annual benefit in an airplane hangar.
Not only will guests have the chance to get an up-close look at vintage World War II planes and vehicles, the Flying Cloud Airport hangar in Eden Prairie will be transformed into the perfect arena for a dance and dinner party. The Wingwalker USO Troupe will entertain with a dinner-time show, and the 19-piece Roseville Big Band will provide dance music throughout the evening. Other activities include a live auction and a 1940s costume contest. So, gentlemen, be sure to dust off your fedoras; and ladies, practice pinning your victory rolls.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Scott County Historical Society. Tickets are $45, and are available at the Stans Museum. You must be 21 years of age or older to attend. For more information call 952.445.0378 or email email@example.com.
