'Views from the Loft' book launch party
Writers can find inspiration almost anywhere, including in the words of other writers. The Loft Literary Center has taken efforts to help writers of all skill levels face blank pages courageously, dislodging their writer's block. One of many useful resources the Loft offers is their blog, A View from the Loft, where writers describe the processes, frustrations, and joys of writing. Now these valuable stories are the focus of a new book.
Edited by Daniel Slager, a publisher at Milkweed Editions, Views from the Loft is the "collected wisdom" of members of the Loft's extensive, nationally-recognized writing community. The book is a portable writer's workshop bursting with "practical tips and suggestions to ruminations on the mystery of the writing process--this invaluable book provides writers everywhere with the tools and inspiration they need to thrive."
This Thursday, special guests and contributors Jim Moore, Bao Phi, Faith Sullivan, and R.D. Zimmerman will help celebrate the completion of Views from the Loft with a special book launch party at the Target Performance Hall in Open Book. See the Loft's calendar for other reading dates. You can also find a link to excerpts from Views from the Loft at Milkweed Editions.
