The Gallery at Fox Tax is opening a new exhibit tonight titled "Endless Winter" with paintings and screen-prints by local artist Drew Peterson. Thankfully, we haven't seen even a hint of snow yet, and even more thankfully, our winters are never endless; although they might feel like it sometimes.

But as much as Minnesotans love to talk about the weather, it can get quite monotonous and dull more often than not. So Peterson's artistic interpretation of winter is a welcome change.

Tonight from 6 to 10 p.m., the Gallery at Fox Tax will be open to the public and featuring Peterson's new collection of large-scale paintings and screen-prints inspired by ad illustrations of the 20th century. Peterson combines the familiar images with his own creative renderings, resulting in sweeping works that seem recognizable yet futuristic.

Best known for his unlimited range of bright color in his paintings and prints, Peterson's new collection focuses in on very specific cool and subdued hues we get to know all too well under the cold, grey skies of winter.

The "Endless Winter" exhibit will run from October 15 through November 19; gallery hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. If you are unable to see Peterson's newest exhibit, he also is preparing for another solo exhibit at the Chambers Hotel Burnett Gallery next year.
