Due to a super-busy schedule filled with new projects, including the Open Field, the Walker Art Center's Music and Movies in the park took a break last year. Though this was a major bummer for film lovers and other folks in the community, City Pages managed to keep the torch lit, hosting a similar night titled Four Nights in Loring.

This morning the Walker announced that this summer would mark return of the series.

At this point in time information is sparse, but press folks at the Walker are saying that the film and music festival will run Mondays, from August 1 through 22. As the event's title suggests, each evening will include live jams from local bands, followed by a film screening at dusk.

New this year will be a special evening featuring a silent film screening with a live music soundtrack at the Walker's green space. The idea's for the special event came as a nod to the original series, held in 1973, which screened silent films played to live music.

Bands and films for 2011's series will be announced in May.
