Last weekend Walker, a town boasting a population of 1,500,
hosted 10,000 visitors for their annual Eelpout Festival, an event
celebrating a super-ugly fish. One of those guests included Australian
media personality Rove McManus, who was there to tape a segment for
The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The trip most likely provided plenty of fodder; the festival features plenty of wacky happenings, including the opportunity to kiss a fish for good luck, to drink from an 30,000 pound ice bar, and to cheer on folks as they dress up and jump into a freezing lake. The insanity of it all, through the perspective of Perth native McManus, should make for interesting television.
