Spring thaw means time for the art crawl! This month marks the St. Paul Art Collective's 31st crawl. Over 325 artists are participating in this self-guided event, which includes Lowertown and downtown neighborhoods, studios located around University and Raymond Avenues, Grand Avenue, and Harriet Island. With such a vast amount of work on display, this family-friendly event is sure to have something that appeals to everyone.

There will be pieces available in all price ranges. For example, find cigarette-pack sized original works for only $5 from Altered Aesthetic's cigarette-turned-art vending machine located in the Tilsner Building lobby. Proceeds from the sales benefit Altered Esthetics and the Saint Paul Art Crawl.

In addition to more traditional wall-art, including photographs and paintings, artists will have all manner of creations for sale, such as digital and multimedia arts, jewelry, sculpture, fashion accessories, textiles, and book arts. There's even word of home and garden furnishings being available for purchase. Student works will also be for sale in the Creative Arts High School, located in the Cosmopolitan Building.

Not only will artists' studios be open during the crawl, there will be art on display in other venues such as restaurants and coffee shops, including the Black Dog and Trotters Cafe. Participating galleries include the Grand Hand Gallery, Master Framers, the American Association of Woodturners, Nevermind Gallery, and the St. Paul Art Collective's own gallery located in Lowertown.

The St. Paul Art Collective wants to be sure this event is open to all, so disability access is available in most buildings and large-print maps are available. Visit the event's website for further information, including parking and participating venue locations.
