What to Where: Arrow, Guthrie Theater, Sea Change

The Guthrie's new stage adaptation of William Wyler's 1953 motion picture has received a ton of press -- and rightfully so. Merging the iconic movie starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck with the giddy pop of Cole Porter's timeless music has proved to be a winning combination with audiences. The cast's exhilarating performance deftly matches the charisma of their silver-screen counterparts. Add to that the Guthrie's trademark production magic, and you have a perfect summer evening of adventure, romance, and comedy.
However, this is a night out at the theater, so fashion should follow the fun. Even though
the production features light and less-serious fare, prepping the perfect ensemble of clothing for the theater can still be intimidating. Although an attendee's outfit should not overshadow the performance, it provides an opportune time to explore your artistic side by experimenting with your wardrobe.

Boutiques have been sprouting up more frequently in the downtown Minneapolis area, but none seem to compare to Arrow's unique offerings and knowledgeable staff. While investigating the racks of this Warehouse District gem, we can honestly say that each item spoke volumes to us. Arrow's offerings have the stylistic edge of New York and L.A., but the staff definitely understands their clientele and is mindful in their approach to designer fashion in the Midwest. With brands like Mother, Antik Batik, and Assad Mounser, Arrow has carved out a unique niche in the city by providing gorgeous high-end clothing with expert service. Both Princess Anne and Joe Bradley would be quite impressed.

If the show, the surroundings, and the clothes make you feel like royalty on an evening vacation, the food should definitely follow suit. Thankfully, a restaurant helmed by one of Minneapolis's culinary royal court is located just a few steps from the Guthrie lobby. Sea Change features James Beard award-winning chef Tim McKee's delicious -- and environmentally aware -- take on seafood.

The menu includes exquisite dishes to please fans of food from land, sea, and air. As great as the culinary fair is, Chef McKee's commitment to sustainability is even greater. Using fish from population-managing fisheries and furniture from fallen redwoods, Sea Change offers an experience to please both the heart and the stomach.
So, why not get your helmet and take a sweeping, fun, and fashionable trip to the riverfront for a holiday of your own this weekend?
