Sweet Hot Mess, Soo street party, Mario Kart 64 battle: Freeloader Friday

Japanese artist Caramelaw for "Sweet Hot Mess"

This weekend, there's a pretty wide range of things to do for free in the Twin Cities. There's "Sweet Hot Mess," an art show featuring sweet (and sometimes sour) art by local, national, and international artists. The reception will feature cake, candy, and pastry artists is a sugar battle royale. The Soo Visual Arts Center will host a block party with a whimsical carnival feel (think unicorns and cotton candy) at Pat's Tap this Saturday, and Tipsy Pixels invites folks to play old-school games at the Triple Rock Sunday.

Come take a look at our list.
