Tonight, friends, family, colleagues, and art lovers will honor her memory with an art show and gathering.
The event will take place at the gallery as well as at the nearby C.C. Club from 4 to 10 p.m. Monday, September 10. The night will feature a collection of Greenberg's art over the years, and people are invited to share stories and enjoy her work.
This Saturday, September 15, guests will be able to check out "Through a Glass, Darkly," an exhibition that Greenberg curated, at an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. The show will feature the work of Serena Cole, who creates psychological portraits using fashion models, everyday people, and dark subject matter as inspiration. The two originally met in 2006 when Cole participated in "Untitled 5," a yearly series at SooVAC highlighting promising, new, and undiscovered talent.
In honor of her contributions to the Minnesota arts community, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak has also proclaimed September 10, 2012 to be Suzy Greenberg Day.
