Now that all of this "election" nonsense is finally wrapping up, we can all get back to laughing at things that matter.

This Wednesday night, Acme Comedy Co. is hosting a special "Mission Nutrition Comedy Edition" event to benefit the local chapter of Meals on Wheels.

Acme owner Louis Lee says he got involved with Meals on Wheels through his longtime friend and fellow comedy booker Rich Miller.

"Rich has been involved with Meals on Wheels for quite some time, and he approached me a few months ago about hosting an event at the club," he says. "[Acme] partners with a lot of charities for events like this one, and each time the circumstances are unique. We make it a point to work with the group to meet their needs and make it a successful evening."

The lineup for Wednesday is stacked, with national headliners and Acme favorites Chad Daniels, Tim Harmston, Andy Erikson, and Trevor Anderson all taking the stage for a one-night-only event.

Daniels, a longtime Acme favorite, is having a huge year, having just released a new album and a one-hour special this past summer (which was filmed at Acme), and performing on Conan the same day. Wednesday night's show will be his first appearance at the club since March, and likely the last chance to check him out at his home club this year.

Fellow headliner Tim Harmston just finished a successful week-long run at Acme back in August, and given his past jabs at local politicians (okay, maybe just one in particular), should have plenty to say in the wake of Tuesday's election.

Andy Erikson and Trevor Anderson are both Acme mainstays, and two of the most promising up-and-comers on the local comedy scene. They both bring big laughs, unpredictability, and, in the case of Erikson at least, more unicorn references than you can handle. (We mean that in the best way possible.)

Combine those four funny people with the fact that 100 percent of the ticket proceeds from Wednesday night's show benefit Meals on Wheels, and you've got the makings of an awesome event. And seriously, what else do you have to do on a Wednesday?
