This Saturday, folks will be able to get a little sneak peak of Public Functionary, a new gallery space in northeast Minneapolis that plans to open in January 2013 with the help of a KickStarter campaign.

The new gallery will feature modern art exploring new technologies and cultures, hosting both local and national artists. Organizers envision an ever-changing space, with mobile walls that can adapt and create new layouts to best suit each art show. There are also plans to provide educational opportunities. Tricia Khutoretsky will serve as curator.

The art party fundraiser, dubbed Colorant Gleam, should be a glam time for revelers interested in the gallery. During the event, guests will be able to partake in art poster screen printing, contribute to a color-by-number mural, play "Body Pong," get their picture taken in the photo booth, and dance to music by DJ Don Cuco and Sarah White. There will also be tasty cocktails by mixologists from the Northstar Bartender's Guild, and light installations, projections, and other interactive art by Bryant Locher and Playatta.

The event is free, but all funds raised during the evening will benefit Public Functionary. The gallery's KickStarter campaign has raised $5,040 so far, and has a goal of $30,000 by November 26.
