Eschew the ol' no-white-after-Labor-Day rule this year, and add pre-winter white to your wardrobe. Designer Claire Ward embraced the trend with a floor-length snow-colored gown topped with a whimsical, cropped, red-mesh vest adorned with pom-poms and felt discs. While it might be difficult to pull this look off every day, it's a great reminder that white still works -- especially with a pop of color.
4. The '90s

Fashion has a way of recycling itself while reinventing and growing with each new season. This year, the 1990s are back with a vengeance, so it's a good thing grunge and fall weather go hand-in-hand. With cheeky sweaters (like the "Dark World" sweater from Cliche) and layering with flannel, tartan plaid, and army prints, this era presents styles that will block the cold and keep you fashion-forward with a new twist on the past. Plus, Doc Marten-style boots are perfect for those late-fall days when the first flurries start to appear.
3. Well-tailored menswear

To be honest, this never goes out of style, but it's a lot easier to achieve this look during the chillier months of the year. The two menswear collections on the runway from Atmosfere and MartinPatrick3, were spot-on as usual. The abundance of fitted blazers paired with smart button-downs, wool scarves, and bow ties brought a little bit of Dr. Who to Minnesota menswear in the best way possible.
