12 Years a Slave
When it was announced that this year's Walker Dialogue Series would feature the films of Steve McQueen, followed by a talk with the British filmmaker, tickets sold out quickly. That led some folks in the community to voice their frustration about accessibility to the event, and suggest that another lecture with the artist be scheduled.

Interested audiences will have another chance to hear McQueen talk about his latest film, 12 Years a Slave, as a second Q&A, hosted by Allied Integrated Marketing in collaboration with Fox Searchlight, has been scheduled for this weekend.

The special screening will take place this Saturday afternoon at Regal Brooklyn Center 20 (6420 Camden Ave. N.). The 12:30 p.m. screening of the Oscar-buzz-worthy flick will be followed by a Q&A session with the director. Tickets prices range from $7.50 to $8, and can be purchased online.

The film tells the true tale of Solomon Northrup, a free African-American who is abducted and forced into slavery, where he encounters terrifying cruelness as well as hopeful kindness.

Tickets to the event can be purchased here. The film is currently screening in theaters throughout Minnesota.

Unfortunately, the "sweet" high schooler without answers is not so sweet anymore.  The manager is telling her to say she is in a conference and the girl is at her wit's end and hung up on me.

City Pages might want to pull the link for now -- there sounds to be a sweet high schooler without answers manning the theater's phone right now.
