Macalester College has a pretty awesome feather to add to its hat. The St. Paul liberal arts school just announced His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet will be visiting Minnesota in March, and will give a free talk on campus.
Information at this point in time is pretty sparse, as ticketing and other details are still being hammered out. What we do know is that the Dalia Lama will be giving a talk at the college on March 2 titled, "The Nature of Happiness, Fulfillment, and Embodiment
." He'll be giving the chat on the start day for Losar, also known as the Tibetan New Year.
The Dalai Lama will be in town a day earlier as part of the Nobel Peace Prize Forum
, held annually in the Twin Cities in March, as he is the 2014 honored laureate. The pacifist activist received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989, and continues to preach non-violence and compassion while voicing concern for the environment.
The talk at Macalester College will be free, but tickets will be required. We'll post more info as it becomes available.
