MNfashion returns, revives Minneapolis-St. Paul Fashion Week
Minneapolis-St. Paul Fashion Week is set to return this fall, from September 12-19. Three events are already up on the organization's online calendar. Avant Garden, the Walker's posh garden bash, will return for a second year. At Element, Tara Murphy, MNfashion executive director, will "attempt to fill the runway show hole left by the Shows' departure." Finally, Envision (which is also happening this spring in a few weeks), will close out the festival.
In addition to setting the dates of the festival, MNfashion hopes to use its online calendar and social media accounts to bring in some income, which will be used to maintain the website and offer stipends to administrators, with some amount to be donated to local fashion education programs.
"It became very clear that although we would not be organizing events anymore that MNfashion could not let our digital platforms sit dormant," says Tara Murphy. "We have built a large, loyal following over the years and we want to continue using our voice online to help promote designers and events to our audience."
Folks organizing events who are interested in media blasts and online support will be able to purchase advertising at three different pay levels, which will entail online listings, as well as mentions on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
