Big news for fans of binge drinking and the undead: The fine folks who organize the super-popular Zombie Pub Crawl have announced a date and location for the 2014 zombie apocalypse. The party has previously been hosted by businesses on the West Bank, with a few satellite adventures in St. Paul and a year in northeast Minneapolis. This year, the bash is moving to a new part of town: the Warehouse District.

The festival will be sprawling along North First Avenue in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday, October 11. Zombies who crawl into the area will find two outdoor music stages, food trucks, and over a dozen bars with special deals for the walking dead.

Schell's Brewing will also be partnering with the event again to create a special-edition tallboy, called "Brain Belt," to get what's left of those zombie brains buzzed. DWITT will also be back to create brand-new artwork for the highly collectable cans.

The gathering, which has grown from 150ish zombies to over 30,000 in the past decade, is the biggest zombie party of its kind, and even holds a Guinness World Record. In 2014, event organizers will be expanding the zombie love to another location, too, with a Zombie Pub Crawl taking over Kansas City, Missouri, on October 4.

The full lineup for bands jamming out at the Minneapolis party will be announced August 5. In the meantime, tickets are currently on sale for the celebration at zombiepubcrawl.com.

I can see the bar list now: Sneaky Pete's, Pourhouse, Whisky Park, Brothers, Cowboy Jack's, etc. - the same group of places that have a bar crawl EVERY FUCKING MONTH. This is a hard pass for me this year.

Zombie pub crawl has had its run. Kids need something new and exciting. Maybe a naked bicycle ride or something with red bull sponsorship. Anything except another zombie bore fest. DMX ? Who's idea was that? It is over. The taste o Minnesota and stillwaters log jam (childish giggle) can't even have a good year because of climate change. Really what and where I'm the twin cities area would be a wonderful event for people of all ages to enjoy?
