World Cup Games

The World Cup games this week are on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, and yes, the U.S. is still in contention. Not every game will be screened at every location here, but these are all fun places to go for screenings.

World Cup Viewing
(Brit's Pub & Eating Establishment, 1110 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, 612-332-3908, www.britspub.com)

Head on up to the rooftop for skyline city views, sun, grass, beer, and the game on the big screen.

Nomad World Copa
(Nomad World Pub, 501 Cedar Ave. S., Minneapolis, 612-338-6424, www.nomadpub.com)

The screenings here are also outside, with drink stations, bocce court, live music, visits from food trucks, and other bar amenities while the games screen on a JumboTron.

World Cup Viewing Party
(Bryant-Lake Bowl Theater, 810 W. Lake St., Minneapolis, 612-825-3737, www.bryantlakebowl.com)

Looking to watch the games out of the sun? Bryant-Lake Bowl is cheering on teams from the comfort of their backroom theater, which has a big screen.

The Growler Magazine 2nd Birthday Beer Bash
(Nomad World Pub, 501 Cedar Ave. S., Minneapolis, 612-338-6424, www.nomadpub.com)

This event was going to be at Taste of Minnesota. However, due to flooding, the b-day party and the festival had to relocate. While Taste is heading way out of town, the Growler siply moved one city over to party at the Nomad World Pub. This Thursday, you'll be invited to celebrate the bi-monthly beer mag as a party that features a silent disco (you dance while listening to your iPod. No, it's not embarrassing. Actually, yes, it kind of is), food trucks, a screening of a beer-themed film on the JumboTron, special offerings from craft breweries, and more. Thursday, 6-10 p.m.

(Northrup King Studios, 1500 Jackson St. NE, Minneapolis, 612-363-5612, www.northrupkingbuilding.com)

Free things to do abound in northeast Minneapolis this Thursday. Studios will open their studios, galleries, and work spaces up for art viewings, mini-parties, and other happenings. Live music, free snacks, and other treats typically abound this night as well. Thursday 5-9 p.m.

Terrific, but please note that First Thursday is for a multitude of buildings in the NE Arts District - Mpls. Free visual arts activities are posted at the Art Mob Twin Cities MN events page.
