This week we have a bike party, an artists' party, and a party where you can throw pie at a Hall of Fame baseball player. Come take a look.

Take a Swing Off Bert
(Darby's Pub, 315 5th Ave. N., Minneapolis)

Feel like playing ball in a bar with a Hall of Famer? This Monday, pitcher Bert Blyleven will be at Darby's Pub right by Target Field to issue barhoppers with a challenge for charity. He'll be pitching a Wiffle ball at participants. If they swing and miss, and they will get a pie in the face. If they hit the ball, however, it's Blyleven's face that takes the pie. Every time the latter happens, 2 GINGERS will donate $100 to Wounded Warrior Project and $100 to Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. 21+. Monday, 4-5 p.m.

Potted Meet Mondays is an open-ended, super-casual happening. At each event, artists and musicians come together for low-key performances and creativity. There's no set schedule, and guests are welcome to come and go as they please. The eighth installment of the series will feature live ceramicist and sculptor Katayound Amjadi, visual artist and photographer Kate Wimer, tuba musician Ben Klein, and improv orchestra Japanese Beetles. There will also be prizes for revelers. Learn more about the event here. 7 to 10 p.m. Monday.

Third Thursday: Bike Night
(Minneapolis Institute of Arts, 2400 3rd Ave. S., Minneapolis, 612-870-3131, www.artsmia.org)

This month's installment is all about bikes. Folks are invited to cycle to the party, and even ride through part of the museum to get to the fun. Once at the museum, revelers will be able to get their rides tuned up, meet with local organizations and businesses, and partake in various bike-themed activities. There will also be beer, prizes, and live music from Southside Desire. 6-9 p.m. Thursday.

Honorable mention: Pedalopolis

Speaking of bike fun, Pedalopolis kicks off this Tuesday, and features a series of free bike rides and bike-friendly happenings. We'll be running a post covering some of the top events of the six-day festival later in the week, but in the meantime, you can check out the official site here.
