Four free things to do this week

This week, Brit's Pub & Eating Establishment in downtown Minneapolis is offering two fun free happenings on its grassy rooftop. This Monday at 8:30 p.m. they'll be screening The World's End. In a sad attempt to recapture a bit of his youth, Gary (Simon Pegg) gathers up his old friends and convinces them to partake in a 12-pub bar crawl. Things get weird when it becomes apparent that some kind of android invasion is going on. Later in the week, folks stressed out at work can kick their evening off right with a yoga session boasting Brit's awesome rooftop views. The free yoga starts at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
(Minneapolis Institute of Arts, 2300 Third Ave., Minneapolis)
In honor of the Minnesota State Fair starting up tonight, the MIA will be hosting an evening inspired by the Great Minnesota Get-Together. So if you can't make it to the fairgrounds on opening day, this is a great way to get a fair fix. The event will include treats on a stick, beer and other beverages for purchase, music, live butter sculpting, and more. Try your hand at seed art, or get your pic taken at the photobooth. 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
(Midtown Freewheel Bike Center, 2834 10th Ave. S., Minneapolis, 612-238-4447)
Pedal on down to the Greenway this Thursday for a bike party and movie night. The event will feature a screening of Elemental, a documentary that follows three environmentally conscious people who are seeking to solve some of the world's toughest ecological problems. Before the movie there will be food for sale from Taco Cat and beer from Indeed Brewing. 7:30-10:30 p.m. Thursday.
