Free stuff alert: The Walker Art Center is extra free tonight

Yellow camera.jpg
Freeloader Friday won't be published until tomorrow morning. However, this week's Target Free Thursday Nights at the Walker is loaded with so much stuff that we had to give it an Freeloader-inspired mention.

The weekly event, which happens every Thursday evening from 5 to 9 p.m., features special performances, tours, hands-on activities, the chance to view ongoing exhibits, and other freebies that won't haunt you when your monthly credit card bill shows up.

Tonight's event is extra free for those that get there early (hint: you just might score some free booze if you play your cards right).

Civics in Cinema: Likely the only place you'll see Zoo Animal and Ghostbusters in the same night.
It seems like just last month we were sitting in Stevens Square Park, watching Back to the Future while being devoured by mosquitoes.

Apparently, that was closer to a year ago, which means it's almost time for the Cinema and Civics 2012.

The lineup is out, and, per usual, it does not disappoint.

If we had to identify a theme, we'd say movies that are awesome when you're young, but are 10 times better when you revisit them later in life.

Judah Friedlander at the Varsity: Win tickets!

Categories: Free Stuff
Judah Friedlander.jpg
Judah Friedlander doesn't just play a writer on TV as Frank on NBC's 30 Rock, he's also writes in real life too. In 2010, the actor/comedian, perhaps best known for his unkempt look, trucker hats with messages on them, and large glasses, penned How to Beat Up Anybody: An Instructional and Inspirational Karate Book by the World Champion. Yes, the claims inside that tome were completely fabricated, but much like John Hodgman's tall tales, that's part of his charm.

Friedlander -- who regularly performs in New York, Los Angeles, and Boston -- will be in town this Tuesday at the Varsity Theater. We've got a pair of tickets to give away.

Here's how to enter to win:
