​Calling all photography students! Village Voice Media (City Pages' parent company) is recruiting undergraduate photo students for its Spring 2012 Photo Intern Program.

Our interns work directly with the art director and the web editor and photograph local restaurants for our online restaurant guide and blogs. They also shoot online slideshows on anything from burlesque shows to art openings to local concerts.

Interns who pass muster might also be invited to attend cover shoots and/or take photos for print articles.

​Feel that Monday morning hangover! Yes, the weekend was pretty epic thanks to Halloween celebrations all over town. There were gallery openings, costume balls, DJ parties, and more happening from the moment people woke up until they fell asleep (sometime around 11 a.m.). The ghouls were out in full-force (as was the hard liquor), and so were our photographers, capturing all the raucous celebrations.

​There was no escaping the hoards of drunken zombies this Saturday. Though they were mostly concentrated along the West Bank, from the 501 Club to the Cabooze, drink specials and live music hardly kept them quarantined. The undead invaded non-zombie zones as well, including First Avenue's Too Much Love, Mark Mallman's marathon jam at the Turf Club, and bus stops throughout Uptown. Over 10,000 zombies were expected to rise from the dead this year, and there have been whispers that as many as 13,000 might have turned out.

​Friday night was all about fashion at the Graves 601 hotel. Fashionistas mingled before models hit the runway in the latest designs from Amanda Christine, Calpurnia Peach, Cliché, Drama, Karma, Kjurek Couture, Local Motion, Tendercuts, and others. Rocco Altobelli's crew worked with hair and makeup while Ivegotyourstyle.com's Alice Sydow made sure the fashion shined as the evening's wardrobe stylist.

​The weather was cooler this weekend, but so were the happenings. Though the cities were more chill thanks to families out of town, people taking road trips, or flocking to the fair for one last cheese curd, a good time was still had by those who ventured beyond the main attractions.
