A tequilla bar? How very 2005. Let me quick put on my "Cabo Wabo," tee-shirt and find my special Riedel glass. The only thing less interesting than a wine bore is a spirits bore.

Bottom line : Tequila is trash booze, suitable as a mixer only. And if you want honest to goodness real food, then forget about this ersatz nonsense (the wall decor is right outta Chili's or Ruby Tuesdays), and obviously never set foot in Masa.

Go to Los Ocampo and get it right the first time

I moved from Mpls so time ago, and really miss the place. It has a lot to offer to those who are willing to wait out the winters. However, I continue to watch from afar, amazed at the deep desire of some middle-aged, largely male children of means to play their ego driven games of "us too". Forget trying to vie with NYC or LA. . .revel in what the Twin Cities are; middle sized metro areas without a strong need for a rope-line and VIP culture. Jesus, go to the Convention Grill and have a burger!

It's so pathetic reading some of these comments! I havent been to Barrio, so I can't sing it's praises, yet...but I'll get back to you later when I have (tomorrow!). The point is: you're all so busy being hip, that you're going to miss out on an amazing new restaurant!

What could possible be wrong with an amazingly talented chef, all about authenticity and flavor, being inspired by his love for latin-style street food?? He puts together a team of talented people who've worked with him for ages, and launches another great spot in Minneapolis. Why would you not want a great place to go for amazing drinks (or just plain tequila, if you're not too much of a douche for that *see Common Sense's Bottom Line above*) great bar food, and a staff that deeply cares about the place?? I guess if you're not interested in any of those things...STAY HOME!! But for God's sake, don't sit on your ass and rip a place you've never ever tried simply because the concept isn't hip enough for you!

Been there, ate there and LOVED it.

You narrow minded pornograph machine monkeys should step foot outside your smelly wedge apartments and try something other than Red Dragon and Leaning Tower.

Or maybe you Seward folks could tear yourself away from your free trade coffee and organic spices to marvel in the world which dines Downtown.

Likely by the date of the comments most of you had not set one toe inside this place, much less ate there. Of course this is no Chicago, NYC or Los Angeles, if it were wouldn't we all move away!

The team that put this together are fine folks and deserve claps!

My boyfriend and I live downtown and went out to find a new spot to try. Neither of us drank, but simply enjoyed a few tacos and the mild city nightlife. We both had a few tacos which were very good. I like what they did with it. I never noticed the Dunn Bros. there before, but noticed this place right away. They just opened this week and have a few small bugs to work out, but I think I will go back again.

Just came from lunch at Barrio. It was delicious, but needed to order 3 small plates a piece to try things out. The shrimp on sugar cane, crab sopa, and the skirt steak in fried flour tortilla were out favorites. We would eat 2nds and 3rds. The churros were fluffy, a little too sugared. The chocolate that came with them was delicious and worth having solo. The tequila list is extensive, tops the selection at Bar Abiline, they carried nice number of sipping tequilas in the $20-$30 range, but still offered a lime an salt just in case. This place would be perfect for happy hour.
