Drink of the Week: Sorbet Spritzer

Minnesota is a great town for local brews, but did you know that we also make some pretty good ice cream and sorbet?

Sorbet Spritzer
Crema Café
$7

Sonny’s came into existence when Sonny Siron created his first humble batch over 50 years ago. Nowadays, the brand remembers its roots while enjoying locally legendary status as one of the tastiest ice cream and sorbet–markers in the Twin Cities. Those that wander into Lyndale Avenue’s Crema Café should be sure to try the Sorbet Spritzer. This refreshing, nonalcoholic concoction features 2 scoops of any of the sorbet flavors in the case that day with some bubbly Perrier served on top. Mine contained a scoop of Pear Pinot Grigio and scoop of Raspberry Zinfandel, but I imagine the amazingly yummy chocolate sorbet would make a delicious chocolate soda–type drink as well. It’s refreshing, and I daresay, it’s hard to not feel sophisticated while sitting outside on the gorgeous Parisian-style café porch.
