Brought to the Twin Cities by spirits importer Eric Seed of Haus Alpenz, Lauria is a product of top-quality cream, Pear Williams brandy, and mountain pears of the region surrounding the Austrian Alps. The easiest way to describe it is as a pear version of Baileys, but it has a more complex caramely flavor and the pulpy texture of macerated fresh pears--it might seem odd at first, but, trust me, you'll come to love it.
Drink it neat, poured over vanilla ice cream or into espresso, or in a cocktail like the WH Murray: 2 parts Lauria, 1 part malt whiskey, and a splash of maple syrup.
