It is not uncommon for people to shudder and tell a tale of college debauchery at the mere mention of tequila. But it’s not tequila’s fault that you couldn’t hold your liquor in your youthful days. In later years you may have grown disappointed with some of the ridiculous, overpriced, candy–sweet margaritas served around town.

Though the name Yowza–Yowza–Yowza may sound dubiously like one of these drinks, rest assured it is not.

It’s the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and salty: Patron Silver, Cointreau (orange liqueur), with mango, pineapple, and lime juices. The Yowza is served in the type of glass one would serve a gin and tonic in, so no frou–frou glassware. Of course, the glass is still lined with a halo of salt. Tequila is, after all, a deceptive liquor.
