Growing Power gets a genius grant

Growing Power's two-acre farm--the last remaining farm located within the city limits--utilizes an integrated system of greenhouses, hoophouses, aquaculture, vermiculture, and composting to raise a half a million dollars worth of healthy, affordable foods for its low-income neighbors each year. It's a pretty badass program and hopefully the MacArthur attention will help launch similar farms in other cities.
