Rick Nelson of the Strib recently reported that local cookbook author Raghavan Iyer is planning to open an Indian restaurant in downtown Minneapolis, and, frankly, I'm thrilled.

Iyer, a Bombay native, knows Indian food inside and out. He's written multiple cookbooks on the subject ("660 Curries," "The Turmeric Trail," "Betty Crocker's Indian Home Cooking") and consults with corporate chefs to train them how to cook Indian food for the cafeterias of major companies like Target, Medtronic, Best Buy, etc. I'm excited to see what things he'll be serving to the general public.
