Virgin Atlantic passenger busts on food

Anyone care to file a formal complaint about the Northwest Airlines snack box? You might get a job.

A complaint lobbed by a disgruntled (yet playful) Virgin Atlantic passenger to airline CEO Richard Branson about what he was served on a recent Mumbai to London flight is making super cyber-rounds as we speak.

The letter is accompanied by photos to illustrate the man's miserable dining experience, which apparently includes, among other things, a dessert that with peas in it, a single cookie in a Ziploc bag and what is described as a "sour gel with a clear oil on top."

"You don't get to a position like yours, Richard, with anything less than a generous sprinkling of observational power so I KNOW you will have spotted the tomato next to the two yellow shafts of sponge on the left," the man writes about a portion of his meal.

"Imagine being a 12-year-old boy, Richard," he continues. "Now imagine it's Christmas morning and you're sat there with your final present to open ... Only you open the present and it's not in there. It's your hamster, Richard. It's your hamster in the box and it's not breathing. That's how I felt when I peeled back the foil."

Here is an article detailing the incident. Branson has reportedly contacted the man with an offer to select food and drink for the airline.

Perhaps someone can do something similar to Northwest. However, the newly merged airline will be rolling out, in consultation with celebuchef Todd English and others, some new eats in late March, which will include more fresh, gourmet selections as well as new cocktails. Let's cross our fingers. Let's also not get our hopes up.
