Not only are people buying cheaper food these days (what with the economy and all) but they're just plain buying more food in general. General Mills CEO Ken Powell told the World Economic Forum that home cooking is witnessing a resurgence.

"Basically, consumers in North America are rediscovering the grocery store and cooking at home again, clearly to the benefit of some and the disbenefit of others as many restaurants really struggle in the U.S. right now," Powell said over the weekend.

Did anyone in the elite Davos crowd even care?

General Mills was named last month by Fortune Magazine as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For.
