RIP La Bodega

If you passed La Bodega this weekend and thought it looked eerily quiet and wondered why all the liquor shelves were empty, your fears have been comfirmed: they've called it quits.

For whatever reason--the space was awkward, the food wasn't very good, the drinks too expensive, who knows--La Bodega never seemed to reach its full potential as a Spanish-themed restaurant-and-nightspot on the prime corner of Lyndale and Lake Street. When it rebranded the north room with an Italian menu a few years ago, I thought surely that was its last hiccup, yet it hung on quite a bit longer.

Is Lynn-Lake now officially the hardest-hit area in terms of restaurant closures in the past 12 months?
