Winners of the first ever Shorty Awards were announced last week.

The awards, put together by Sawhorse Media, are basically like the Peoples' Choice Awards for the billowing world of Twitter.

In the food category, foodie Twitterer Foodimentary won top honors.
Foodimentary posts trivia and tidbits, mostly focused on food history.

If you were a "follower" of Foodimentary you would know, say, that the Baby Ruth candy bar was named after President Grover Cleveland's daughter, and that Coca Cola used to be green.

You can also get this information from the Foodimementary website. That's not necessarily the case with other Twitterers though.

The other four food nominees, included, interestingly, two vegan ones.
