Anybody making Whoopie Pies?

The NYT featured the East Coast's famed dessert, Whoopie Pies, this week. I haven't had one of those little cupcake sandwiches in years and I can't say I've ever seen one in a Twin Cities bake shop...so to all the folks at Baker's Wife, Salty Tart, Lucia's, etc., consider this a formal request for a new addition to your wares.

In the meantime, tide yourself over by making a batch of the Whoopies that once graced the cover of Gourmet Magazine--the filling is made with marshmallow fluff vs. buttercream frosting, as the Times suggests. I've had 'em twice, courtesy two of my favorite home bakers (thanks Kim, thanks Megan) and they were divine.
