Cheesehead carves it up tomorrow at Sam's Club
If you're suffering from State Fair Dairy Princess butterhead withdrawal, here's the next best thing: Sarah "The Cheese Lady" Kaufmann will carve a 500-pound bear out of cheese at the White Bear Lake Sam's Club tomorrow.
Apparently Sarah "The Cheese Lady" will also carve a Sioux Indian warrior and Sioux Indian maiden, so she'll be setting up shop at Sam's for three days:
Sam's Club - White Bear Lake, MN
1850 Burkley Road
White Bear Lake, MN 55110
How did Sarah get into cheese carving? It all started in Madison, WI, where she received a degree in Commercial Art and then worked for the Wisconsin dairy industry for more than a decade--that's where she started using cheese sculptures in trade and consumer promotions.
She took her business national in 1996, carving at all sorts of supermarkets, trade shows, festivals, fairs, and events. She's carved a six-foot long aircraft carrier, a 300-pound gorilla, and several television personalities (Including Jay Leno, Matt Lauer, and Katie Couric). For those of you who have always dreamed of having your bust carved in butter, maybe it's time to consider switching to cheese.
