Kosher salt backlash: who knew?

BoingBoing passes along word of a retired Maryland barber's launch of Blessed Christian Salt (wtf). The man, appropriately named Joe Godlewski, says he was moved to act by hearing TV chefs repeatedly recommend kosher salt.

He is hawking his holy product, a sea salt which will be blessed by an Episcopalian priest, via a Memphis seasonings manufacturer. A share of the proceeds will go to Christian charities he says.

And if all goes well, Godlewski says he plans to roll out an entire line of "Christian" foods. He can join the club, as other entrepreneurial Christians are already selling things like "Testamints," cross-shaped lollipops and Gummy biblical figures.
