RIP Burrito Loco

The Southwest Journal reports that brothers and former U of M students Greg and John Pillsbury have shuttered their Uptown Burrito Location at 1400 Lagoon due to rising rents and the difficulty of managing multiple restaurants (at one point they managed a hot dog and deli shop in addition to the two burrito joints). It's a bummer to see a local operator pushed out, but perhaps they'll make a comeback as the Hi-Lake Pineda Tacos did, finding a new home in the new retail space built on the site of its former defunct Pizza Hut location. In the meantime, the Dinkytown location at 418 SE 13th St. remains open.
