Classic cocktails are the new black. Or the new bacon. Something. And the Twin Cities can claim one of those responsible for the resurrection as their own: Haus Alpenz's Eric Seed.

The April issue of The Atlantic includes a short feature about the Edina-based liquor importer, which includes recipes that call for some of his unique products.

If you haven't already, check out Rachel's cover article in this week's CP about Bradstreet's recreation of cocktail culture. The bar carries some of Seed's unusual imports, as do several other restaurants and stores around town, including La Belle Vie, St. Paul Grill, Surdyk's and Haskell's.

So quick, before they jump the shark, buy an eyedropper, start lining your liquor cabinet with creme de violette and maraschino liqueur, and drinks away!
