Hospital-themed restaurant = Eww!

hospitalis.jpg

While I truly appreciate the work of doctors and nurses, in my mind, hospitals are one of the least hospitable places. Why anyone would choose to spend her leisure time in one is beyond me. Plus, why would a restaurateur want to associate himself with a place known explicitly for having *bad* food? That'd be like having an airline-themed restaurant.

In any case, a hospital-themed restaurant, Hospitalis, has sprung up in Latvia, serving food resembling body parts which can be eaten with surgical utensils.

The decor is apparently quite sterile, the nurses scantily clad, the food is served on gurneys and operating tables, and the cocktails mixed in beakers and test tubes by lab-coat donning bartenders. From what I can tell from the photo, that looks to be some sort of macabre cake...am I really supposed to pick off one of the noses and tongues and eat it with a scalpel? Ew, ew, and ew! This makes Asia's toilet-themed restaurants and California's Psycho Donuts seem practically normal.

Here's a look at some of the menu specials (Google provided the translation...)
