After some unforeseen snags and various delays, Harvey McLain's Trattoria Tosca in Linden Hills is slated to open for dinner service tonight. According to the Pi Press, the menu -- which will change weekly -- currently includes "house-made ravioli, tagliatelle with lamb ragu and wild halibut with ramps."

"A nightly 4-course tasting menu for $39 is also part of the mix," the paper says. Um, yum!

The hotly anticipated dinner debut follows the abrupt departure several weeks ago of Chef Landon Schoenfeld. McLain bounced back quickly with the replacement of Schoenfeld with Cafe Levain's Adam Vickerman. Early reports are quite favorable.

The restaurant had a soft opening Monday to rave review. Heidi's Chef Stewart Woodman reports, "There were dishes that you would thought had been prepared by a chef with far more experience, he has the maturity to let the ingredients speak for themselves. He ought to be very proud, and his team as well."

Dinner service runs from 5-9 p.m. Let us know if you go and what you think!
