Female-led restaurant options for Mother's Day

So the theme of this year's James Beard Foundation Awards was "Women in Food," which made me extra conscious of the fact that very few of the nominees themselves were women. Locally, Lucia's is the only restaurant that made it as far as the semi-finals (It was nominated in the "Outstanding Restaurant" category -- which was won by NYC's Jean Georges). The only other female Midwestern contender (if you use the foundation's semi-puzzling definition of Midwest), was Chef Jennifer Coco of the Omaha, Neb. Flatiron Cafe.

So this brings us (or at least me) to Mother's Day. If you're going out for brunch this weekend, why not support some of our local female-driven restaurants? Here's a few suggestions (and please let us know of any others you know of):
