Nathan's hot dog eating contest comes to Mpls.

The Nathan's annual July 4th hot dog eating contest at Coney Island is pretty much my worse nightmare. (Watch this video at the risk of triggering your gag reflex. It might be better just to hide the window and listen to the inane sportscaster style commentary: "'Crazy Legs' shares a birthday with George Clooney, that's really where the similarities end." ... "He has a great facility with the hot dog." "She is Madonna to his A-Rod.") It's too late to sign up to be a contender, but the local qualifying round takes place at Cub Foods in Minneapolis on June 6. We'll let you know what local iron-gut will be headed to New York in July.
