Now Open: Burger Jones

• Mediocre at best. It was busy, but there was nowhere to wait, so we stood in the entry while others waited outside. Service was fine, but not great. They were swamped though. Lots of people running around, so they look they staffed accordingly. The burger was fine, but not what I was expecting for 10 bucks. The malt was fine. The fries were fine. I guess my point is that for the same money, there are at least half a dozen other burger joints that have better tasting food. If you want a fried burger, Convention Grill in Edina is fantastic and has way better malts. I'd actually rather have a burger from McCoy's. The real McCoy is one of the best tasting burgers around. If you're looking for family friendly, Fuddruckers has better tasting burgers, in my opinion. Give it a try, it might suit your taste, it just didn't suit mine. I won't be back.

• Took my kids to Burger Jones this weekend, and was mostly happy about it. The kids shared a hotdog shaped like a hamburger, and we all had loads of fries. I had a tender bison burger and my wife had the veggie. Would be a FANTASTIC place to have fun eating until you burst - awesome malts, great-looking wings, homemade sodas, huge burgers. For those of us riddled with food guilt, not the greatest. Next time, drinks and apps.

• I went to Burger Jones on Tuesday night at 8pm (Opening Night). I was told that they were no longer taking names because they were so backed up. I was surprised since they are supposedly open until 1am (maybe they were running low on meat). In a surprising show of GREAT customer service, they apologized and offered us a gift certificate to our choice of Chino Latino, Figlio or Salut. We picked Salut. The Croque Madame and the "Ze French Onion Soup" Burger were delicious. The anticipation continues to build for my first taste of Burger Jones...
