To the relief of liquor swilling and/or tax hating Minnesotans, Gov. Tim Pawlenty vetoed the DFL-backed tax bill sent to him over the weekend that included provisions that an advocacy group says would have hiked taxes on all alcohol by 100 percent. The American Beverage Institute also voiced opposition to the provision. "Hardworking Minnesotans might want to enjoy a drink over the Fishing Opener weekend without facing another tax increase," Pawlenty said. Check out the bill in its entirety here. And fishermen, did you enjoy your free-from-additional-taxation drinks? Also, did you catch anything?
