Minnesota has the fewest number of obese children according to a new study released by the Trust for America's Health organization. Even so, nearly a quarter of the state's 17 and unders are obese (23.1 percent), the study says. The state's adult obesity rates are a bit higher. Minnesota adults rank as having the 31st highest number of obese adults (25.4 percent). What state has the highest number of big kids? Mississippi, with nearly half of its children qualifying as obese (44.4 percent). Interestingly, while the state also has the greatest number of obese adults, it is more than 10 percentage points less than the kiddos, 32.5 percent.
