While its name seems to fall a little flat, there's still lots to be excited about with Tim McKee's new seafood joint at the Guthrie, which opens today. In addition to lunch and dinner, the Guthrie says, Sea Change will offer a three-course pre-theater menu, late-night small plates, and a raw bar. According to the theater:

Dinner at Sea Change features items ranging from a succulent scallop entrée with sweet corn, chorizo and a lime-jalapeño emulsion to a spice-encrusted seared yellowfin tuna with Jerusalem artichoke puree to non-seafood items such as a beef tenderloin with turnips, mustard greens and a sherry gastrique. Lunch at Sea Change offers a variety of salads, sandwiches and entrees including a crispy rainbow trout sandwich with a curry aioli, watercress and fried shallots.

Dinner entrees are mostly in the $18-22 range. And a raw bar? That'd be things like oysters, littleneck clams, spot prawns, king crab, and smoked salmon, available from 3 p.m. to closing.

The restaurant's 100 or so bottle wine list features primarily European and U.S. wines, about 60 percent of them white, 40 percent red, (and a smattering of sparklings). Bottles start at $22. Right now, the restaurant is serving mostly domestic beer, with eight beers on tap.

The restaurant replaces Cue, which closed its doors earlier this year.
