Uptown Market this Sunday
If you live in Uptown and you can't deal with the long trek downtown to hit the farmers' markets, the Uptown Market--part art/street fair, part farmers market--takes place this Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 29th Street between Lyndale and Dupont. The event is modeled after Seattle's Fremont Market (I think of it as a more populist, community-based version of Pike's Place), with lower booth fees and less bureaucracy to bring in a broader range of vendors.
If you miss it this weekend, you have two more chances: August 16th and September 20th.
