Coming soon: HomeMade Pizza Co. - Calhoun Commons

HomeMade Pizza Co. is opening a new location Sept. 10 in -- surprise! -- Calhoun Commons. It will be the Illinois take-and-bake pizza chain's fifth Minnesota shop, and its first in Minneapolis. With the exception of its Grand Ave. location in St. Paul, HomeMade has thus far clung to the burbs, with stores in Minnetonka, Wayzata, and Eden Prairie.
I haven't had HomeMade's pizza, but from what I can tell, it's a more upscale version of Papa Murphy's -- which I have had (not bad!). HomeMade's got the edge of offering delivery at most of its locations, which I find kind of amusing -- the image of a pizza dude showing up at your door with an ... uncooked pizza.
I admit I don't think I quite understand the appeal of the take-and-bake. My guess is that since they're better than the majority of frozens (though, man, Wolfgang Puck and Kashi and some of the other frozen options have got to be giving these guys a run for their money) and that they're fresh-made makes them attractive options.
Is that right?
