Does pie promote peace? The Minneapolis-based consumer research company Iconoculture says food can "unify disparate groups."

Take Pie Lab for example, a new shop in Greensboro, Ala. that serves up pie in "a neutral space where folks can visit -- and begin to heal." Hale County, where Greensboro is located, is one of the poorest in the country, and a place where racism still divides the community Iconoculture says.
The project was launched via a partnership between a community organization and a group of do-gooder designers, writers and photographers. The idea is to being people together over a slice of pie. Yeah! Maybe my Mashed Potato House idea has some legs after all.
