Like the sweet jazz of Thelonious Monk, this week lets discuss a beer equally deep and layered. Brother Thelonious, a new ale from California's North Coast Brewery, has a flavor rich with coffee and plum, a nice mahogany hue, and boozy nose created by the 9.4 percent ABV. Yes, this is a good beer.
And Kings, what a warm and welcoming room in which to enjoy your pint, with their sparkling fresh renovation, sharp menu, and everyone-knows-your-name vibe.
And if all this is not enough, North Coast Brewery donates money from sales of Brother Thelonious to the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, which provides free training to promising young jazz musicians.
