Deal of the Week: Stella's Happy Hour(s)

​The idea of cheap seafood in the Midwest is generally not appealing--the kind of thing we'd warn you about, not tell you to try. Except in the case of Stella's Fish Cafe in Uptown, which serves $1 oysters, peel-and-eat shrimp deals, and $5 appetizers at its daily happy hours, which make it among the most affordable spots in town to indulge your aquatic appetite.
The specials run Monday through Friday from 3-6pm, and noon-6pm on Saturday and Sunday, and 10 to midnight, coinciding with post-work happy hours, Vikings or T-wolves games, and whatever regrettable late-night antics that take place in Uptown these days.

Drink specials include two-for-one house wine, tap beer, and drinks. The $5 dollar appetizer menu includes Ahi tuna sliders, shrimp quesadillas, and fried fish sandwiches. For landlubbers, there's cream cheese wontons, Philly Cheese Steak sliders, cheese curds, and chicken wings. It's almost like they stuffed the State Fair into the kitchen.

Stella's Fish Cafe may not be in the regular supper budget of many Minnesota diners (most entrees are in the $20-30 range), but the Happy Hour menu and specials make it an affordable option.
