A mini-chain of NYC Spanish restaurants have renamed their seafood stew "Viagra soup" in a seemingly blatant attempt to attract a) buzz, b) customers, and c) media coverage, including blog posts such as this one. The manager of one of the restaurants, according to the New York Daily News, describes the "sexy stew" as "chock-full of fish, shrimp, lobster, crabs, clams and half a shot of tequila."

Hm, sexy? With the exception of the tequila, it sounds pretty pedestrian to us. Plus, the gimmick might just be downright misleading. With the exception of oysters (which don't appear to be in the soup) an article listing the "Top 10 Aphrodisiac Foods" fails to site seafood OR alcohol as most arousing.

Here's the Top 10 Aphrodisiac Foods, according to Session Magazine:

10. Asparagus

9. Almonds

8. Avocado

7. Bananas

6. Basil

5. Chocolate

4. Figs

3. Garlic

2. Oysters

1. Honey

And get this: A bowl of Viagra soup costs a ridonkulous $32. You don't get no $32 for seafood stew. So what do you think? Are the restaurant owners on to something, or is this going to all blow over in a week?
